GY6K9DR is a federally licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2021, based in Arizona. Their mission is to rescue German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and other working breeds from high-kill shelters and assess them for roles such as service, assistance, therapy, or companionship.

They place suitable dogs into therapy, service, search and rescue, or homes with veterans suffering from PTSD—at no cost to the veterans, aiming to honor their service and reduce the financial burden (which can reach up to $50,000 per dog).

Not all dogs are fit for working roles, but they are still loved and placed as companion dogs in well-vetted homes. All dogs undergo basic obedience training to improve their chances of successful adoption.

Volunteers and fosters are vital, and the group provides all necessary supplies for fosters. Most dogs are adopted within 30 days. While their primary operations are in Arizona, they collaborate with trainers and volunteers across the U.S.

The organization encourages people to foster, volunteer, share their mission, and help dogs achieve their potential.

GY6K9DR is always looking for foster homes to help expand their rescue efforts. More fosters mean more lives saved. Dogs placed in foster homes are taught basic training by either local trainers or the fosters themselves.

Only dogs with good temperaments—friendly with people, other dogs, and children—are placed in homes. If needed, the organization provides all supplies, including food, vet care, toys, and beds. Most dogs are adopted within 30 days.

While their primary focus is in Arizona, they have a strong volunteer network across the U.S. and are open to collaborating with trainers nationwide. Those interested in partnering to help dogs reach their full potential are encouraged to get in touch.
